Here I've got on one of those button-down shirts with 3/4 length sleeves that are popular these days. I keep pushing the sleeves up above my elbows.

Here's that black gingham vest I wore on the first blog post, this time with a white polo and black pants. I opted not to wear a scarf but now that I see the pics I think it would be best with a small black or red scarf tied in a soft bow.

Beige Black White

Here's an open-weave beige jacket, worn over a white T and black skirt. I got this jacket at the Salvation Army Thrift Store for 99 cents! Leslie Gonzales says that we should be sure that everything we buy can be worn several ways; so I'll put that into practice next week and see if I can come up with a completely different look for this.

A Simple Classic

Today I'm wearing the simple and classic look of a white T-shirt over blue jeans. I wanted this sweet T-shirt, with its wide V neck and bust line gathers to be the focus today, so I've kept everything very simple -- no scarf or necklace; tiny earrings.

Denim on Denim

A denim dress with self-belt over denim jeans. Dresses over pants are so cute!

Mixing Prints

Mixing prints can be tricky; a simple striped scarf works well with this busy mish-mash of black and beige. The generously cut black print shirt HAS to be tucked in or it's just too baggy. It's also a fairly dated look. I got this shirt at the Salvation Army's 99 cent sale day, but I'm not going to keep it.

Gray Gray Black

White Hoodie 2

Here's that white hoodie again, this time with a red and beige print skirt and a red camisole.

Black and Blue

Black pants and a sweet blue sleeveless shirt with lots of ruching. Ruching is great because it hides bulges.

Black with Daisies

Black pants, black camisole, black shirt with white daisies. White scarf.

Red, White and Blue

Short-sleeved denim shirt with a red tie and white skirt. It's way past due for a haircut again!

A long black skirt, a V-neck T, and a boy scout scarf.

Long Gray Jacket

This long jacket has one silver toggle fastener. I'm also wearing darker gray trousers in a nice stretch fabric and a white T. I'm overheating a bit in this jacket; 'course it's August out there and I don't have the A/C on.

Roses are Red

Black with Roses. I last wore this shirt over a year ago, paired with a long black skirt, to my daughter Rose's rehearsal dinner.

Red/Beige

A simple hip-length T-shirt tops beige pants. A black/beige vertically striped scarf (made by yours truly) softens the lines of the T-shirt.

I Love Scarves!

A beige/blue scarf pulls together the colors in today's outfit: beige vest over white polo and blue jeans.

Black Flowered Skirt with Scarf

An ankle-length black flowered skirt paired with beige polo. A black/beige patterned scarf balances out the colors.

This outfit is yesterday's outfit, inside out. Black pants are topped by a white camisole and blue wrap-style top.

Beige, Black, A Little Tie

A small tie (which I made while in the midst of a scarf-making craze) adds a little interest to a plain knit polo. Black pants. I'm much happier today than yesterday.

Red and Beige

Beige knit with deep V, cap sleeves over a red skirt. I am so so unhappy today over something that happened this morning. I've taken a ton of Photo Booth pics but this is the best I can do.

Red Blazer Denim Jeans

Red with denim again! The appraiser was coming today; I wanted to look casual yet businesslike. I chose a red jacket with black insets over a white polo and straight-leg, high-waist jeans. As an older lady, I prefer the higher waist to hip huggers.

Denim Print with Red

I forgot I wore denim and red just two days ago! I had to wear a skirt today, so I chose a short denim blue one with a printed hemline and topped it with a red T-shirt. I choose a very simple T than something with more design detail because I did not want to detract from the skirt. Missus Smarty Pants says I should wear V-necks rather than scoop necks and she's right. Most don't look good on me though this one's not bad.

Beige Black Black

Red with Denim

Two pieces, no accessories make today a simple day. This polo does have some nice style, with the three buttons and the gathers at the bust. Plus, it's a little loose over the tummy which nicely conceals bulges.

Boring ol' Beige

(I so need a haircut.) I finish the week with a monochromatic beige featuring a calf-length skirt, V-neck T, canvas belt and print scarf. Everyone loved this outfit. I guess a scarf can save anything -- even beige.

Ms. Clean

I continue this week's monochromatic theme with white white white. I've got an off-white skirt with a button-down shirt of pleated white eyelet -- very pretty even though it does show all the bulges. White shoes, too.

Black as the Night

Today: a simple V-neck that hugs the form with a drapey black skirt that my daughter Karen made for me.

Various Shades of Denim

Monochromatic. A short-sleeved denim shirt and a pair of dark jeans. I'm not totally crazy about this outfit, but I wanted to wear all denim today and this was the best I could do. I'm proud of that little scarf -- I finger-wove it while watching "The Bank Job" on Saturday night.

Red on Red

This weeks theme: Monochromatic. Today I've paired a Tommy Hilfiger sleeveless shirt with racing stripe and a short red skirt. A wide belt accentuates the waist. Red is a difficult color to match because there are so many shades of it. Luckily these two go together just fine. Everyone's been saying "That's a pretty dress."

Denim and Beige

This skirt has a built-in pair of shorts -- perfect for wearing to the department picnic today. I've added a little interest to this straight-forward look by tying a scarf at the waist.

A Hoodie

Here I am in a multi-color open-weave hoodie that I picked up at Marshalls a few days ago, worn over a black crepe skirt. I tried several black skirts with this but the one that worked best was the one of drapey fabric.

Gray with Flowers

Here's a cute T with pocket and epaulet detailing, worn over a A-line flowered skirt. I think it could use a little more style -- a scarf or a knitted belt tied around the waist ought to do the trick. The movie "I Am Legend" is playing on the iPod.

Denim Vest with Black Velvet Collar

I love the black velvet collar and the knotted belt on this vest . I've layered it over a white T and a short black skirt -- and the little denim shoes that I wore yesterday.

Glamorous Gray

I always get comments on this shirt, which I picked up last year at Wal-Mart. It says "Glamorous" in shiny silver letters. I usually don't look good in wide-neck shirts but this one is different, I think because shirt is styled such that the collar bone is covered. Also wearing: denim jeans, denim shoes.

Scarf with Beige and Denim

This polo is actually striped beige, blue and white. A scarf, shot with gold, adds a bit of style.

Black camisole, long beige form-fitting shirt, slim black pants, beige shoes.

A white polo tops a classic A-line wrap skirt.

A Flowered Long Skirt

with a gray polo and wide black belt. Collared V-necks look good on me. That's why I always wear them. Also, I love the way my hair looks like it's out of a 1940s movie.

Black with Shell

A black polo and black straight leg pants. Not super-stylish today, other than the fact that black is always cool. The most interesting piece today is the silver shell necklace that my daughter Karen made for me.

Black and Beige

Here's that black shawl-collared T shirt again, this time worn with beige pants. I made it look fresh by adding a black ribbon just under the bust, and I'm very proud of my ribbon!. I was going to try for a monochromatic look today -- all beige -- but did not have an interesting enough shirt to pull it off. All one color can be pretty boring if the garments don't have much style.

Gray on Gray

Turns out that gray doesn't really go with that much. Here I'm trying a monochromatic look -- gray camisole, gray polo and gray skirt.
